Heavy rains caused more damage in northern Moldova

Chisinau, June 3 / MOLDPRES /- Rescuers in the north of the country have responded to heavy rains that fell in the region yesterday.

According to the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (IGSU), in Soroca district, following the torrential rains, registered on June 2, several material damages were reported, and IGSU employees were requested to liquidate the consequences.

"In Volovița, rescuers intervened to remove a fallen tree over two vehicles. In Soroca, on Miron Costin Street, IGSU employees unblocked the traffic on the route blocked by a tree that fell due to wind and heavy rainfall ", the Inspectorate indicates.

In the last 24 hours, rescuers and firefighters have intervened in 55 risk situations.
