Accumulations of air pollutants recorded in Chisinau, Balti

Chisinau, June 8 / MOLDPRES /- The light wind, the thermal inversion of the ground during the night and morning hours contributed yesterday to the accumulation of air pollutants, especially in Chisinau and Balti, according to the Environment Agency of the Republic of Moldova.
According to the institution, the current maximum concentration has exceeded the sanitary norm: in Chisinau for nitrogen dioxide - 1.2-1.3 times; in Bălți municipality for nitrogen dioxide - 1.2 times. Respectively, the maximum allowable concentration for the daily average was exceeded: in Chisinau municipality for nitrogen dioxide - 1.1 times, phenol - 1.1 times, formic aldehyde - 1.2 times; in mun. Bălți for nitrogen dioxide - 1.4 times, formic aldehyde - 1.8 times.
According to the data collected from the measuring points in manual mode and the automatic stations on the territory of the country, the values of the flow rate of the ambient dose of gamma radiation were within the limits of the admissible norm.
"On June 7-8, the lack of rainfall, the weak movement of air masses in the horizontal direction, and during the night and in the vertical, will contribute to the accumulation of air pollutants," a statement from the Environment Agency summarizes.
