Sportspeople's monthly scholarships to be doubled in Moldova

Chisinau, 8 June /MOLDPRES/ - The cabinet of ministers has approved the notification on a draft law which provides for the doubling of the monthly scholarship for performance sportspeople. The quantum, criteria and procedure of providing the scholarship will be established in a special regulation, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.

The performance sportspeople who did not participate in international sports competitions will benefit from monthly scholarship during one year. This scholarship will be set depending on the result recorded at the last sports competition and will be provided in the case when the competitions either were cancelled or postponed because of unforeseen circumstances, or when it is about a disease/injury got by sportspeople during their participation in trainings, training camps and competitions, with the presentation of confirmatory acts.

The doubling of the monthly scholarships will lead to the increase of the state budget up to about 15 million lei.
