Moldova's Commission for Emergency Situations instructs string of measures to ease traffic at Moldovan-Romanian border

Chisinau, 14 June /MOLDPRES/ - The members of the Commission for Emergency Situations (CSE) approved more measures needed for improving the situation at customs checkpoints and for easing the traffic at the Moldovan-Romanian border at a meeting today. These measures come following a working meeting between Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilita and her Romanian counterpart Nicolae Ciuca, held in Bucharest on 10 June, as well as the subsequent technical meetings between the competent authorities from the two countries, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
Thus, the Customs Service and the General Inspectorate of the Border Police were empowered to start discussions with counterpart authorities of Romania, according to the functional competences, in order to agree on rules of interaction and control, due to be subsequently approved by the sides.
At the same time, the Commission for Emergency Situations created the premises for the Customs Service and the General Inspectorate of the Border Police to work at the state border crossing points between Moldova and Romania, placed in Romania.
Another provision adopted today regards the empowering of the Customs Service to take measures of managing the flow of transport means through customs checkpoints.
