Moldovan deputy premier meets Latvian envoy

Chisinau, June 16 / MOLDPRES /- The meeting between Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Oleg Serebrian and Ambassador of Latvia to Moldova Uldis Mikuts focused on the current situation in the dialogue between Chisinau and Tiraspol, the issues and the positions of the Moldovan authorities on how to resolve them, the prospects of promoting the negotiations, the Office for Reintegration Policy has reported.

Concerns were expressed about the complicated human rights situation in the Transnistrian region and the long-standing restrictions on free movement by Tiraspol, and the urgent need to bring the situation back to normal and legal.

The issues of regional security were also discussed, as well as the efforts that are and will continue to be made in order to avoid crisis situations and risks to the sovereignty and territorial integrity of both countries.
