First automatic atmospheric air quality monitoring station to be installed in Moldova

Chisinau, June 16 / MOLDPRES /- Germany has donated to the Republic of Moldova an automatic traffic air monitoring station, which will be able to record a level of pollution mainly influenced by emissions from car traffic, including software, gas analyzers and consumables, announced today by the Environment Agency.
"The station itself is a modular construction, made of galvanized sheet, camouflaged in a specific color, equipped with five gas analyzers to monitor nitrogen oxides, sulfur dioxide, ozone, carbon monoxide and particulate matter, including consumables, incorporated in -a specific construction; conditioning system and continuity of electricity supply; sampling pump; computer with the appropriate accessories; furniture, meteorological devices and electrical connection elements ", indicates the institution.
The launch of this station is the first action implemented by the Republic of Moldova with the approval of the law on atmospheric air quality, according to a directive of the European Parliament.
Experts from Germany, who contributed to the donation of the station, are expected to visit the station on 21 -24 June in order to prepare for its launch. On June 24, the leadership of the Ministry of Environment, the Environment Agency, the Environmental Reference Laboratory, the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) will participate in the opening of this objective.
"In this way, we will be able to visualize in real time the level of air pollution in the region", summarizes the Environment Agency.
