Moldovan head of state has meeting with president of Ukraine in Kiev

Chisinau, 27 June /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu met President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and his team in Kiev today afternoon, the presidential press service has reported.

At the discussion, the Moldovan head of state expressed admiration for the courage with which the Ukrainians defend their Motherland from the Russian aggression and assured the officials that Moldova was with Ukraine.

„We will continue backing the Ukrainian refugees hosted in Moldova. We will strengthen the capacity of transport and transit across the Moldovan territory, in order to organize corridors of goods transport from and to Ukraine. This is our moral duty of neighbours and friends to help them,’’ President Maia Sandu said.    

Also, at the meeting with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the two leaders agreed that the two countries would cooperate in the economic and energy sectors, as well as on the way of accession to the European Union. ‘’The citizens of our countries deserve to have a peaceful and prosperous life, in the European family, and we are obliged to give the people such a future,’’ Maia Sandu stressed.
