Chisinau, 6 July /MOLDPRES/ - The bomb alerts at more state institutions, commercial centres, hospitals and the Chisinau International Airport have proved to be hoax.
Contacted by MOLDPRES, the head of the communication and protocol section of the General Police Inspectorate (IGP), Diana Fetco, said that, following verifications, law-enforcers had not detected explosive objects. ‘’Over 50 bomb alerts were announced on 5 July, which proved to be false. Public institutions from the Moldovan capital, as well as the country’s districts were concerned. Verifications were made at all addresses and no explosive objects were found as a result. All alerts were announced through email,’’ Diana Fetco noted.
Law-enforcers on 5 July were informed about bomb alerts at the parliament, government, judicial institutions, commercial centres, hospitals and the Chisinau International Airport. By the evening, policemen were informed about bomb alerts in more districts of Moldova, with more public institutions regarded – mayoralties, court and subdivisions of the Public Services Agency.
Law-enforcers opened a criminal file on this case. Under the legislation, the person guilty of the deliberate false information about the preparation of a blast is liable to be called to account under the Criminal Code and runs the risk to get a fine worth up to 42,500 lei (about 2,125 euros), 240 hours of non-remunerated work for the benefit of the community or up to two years of imprisonment.
