Moldovan PM introduces new agriculture minister to staff

Chisinau, 8 July /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilita has introduced Vladimir Bolea to the staff of the Agriculture and Food Industry Ministry (MAIA), following the ceremony of his swearing in office. He PM said that the new minister, in his former capacity of head of the parliament’s commission for agriculture and food industry, was familiarized with the work of the sector and had  actively participated in the promotion of reforms in the last 11 months, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.         

”Mr. Bolea has come up with more initiatives for the agro-food sector; yet, in the present crisis conditions, we must speed up the reforms’ implementation. We should quickly intervene to ensure the country’s food security, ensure the free flow of goods, the finishing of the strategy on support of the agriculture, which is to give us a predictability in the subsidization process,’’ Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilita said.  

For his part, the new minister of agriculture and food industry said the team’s work would have one goal: strengthening the national agro-food system.

„The agriculture is the most important branch of the economy and it must become a leading branch in Moldova. We should edify prosperous and sustainable businesses, implement modern technologies in this sector, so that we can develop and cope with the bad weather. I want to tell farmers that they will enjoy our every support, as we have a common goal: a prosperous agriculture,’’ Vladimir Bolea said in his speech.  

At the same time, the prime minister thanked the former agriculture minister, Viorel Gherciu, and the entire ministerial team for the efforts made and the results registered and wished them success in work.
