Yellow Fire Danger Code extended until 12 August

Chisinau, Aug. 7 /MOLDPRES/- The State Hydrometeorological Service (SHS) has extended until August 12, including the Yellow Code of exceptional fire danger.

According to meteorologists, until this date, exceptional fire danger (class V) of a natural nature and fire threat to forest strips and agricultural crops will remain in the country.

For their part, rescuers and foresters warn that it is possible to set fire to agricultural land, fodder warehouses, areas with forest vegetation, homes and outbuildings.

The respective services ask the population to avoid the use of open fire near homes, outbuildings and feed stores, on land covered by dry vegetation, especially when they are located near forests, plantations or objects with a high risk of fire. At the same time, it is recommended to restrict the performance of works that create favorable conditions for the production of fires through releases of volatile substances or excessive overheating.

According to SHS, in the following days, thermal values ​​of up to 36 degrees Celsius are expected throughout the country, with variable skies, in some places rain with electrical discharges.
