Implementation works of European Village Program started

Chisinau, August 11 /MOLDPRES/- The Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development (MIDR) announced today that the procedures have been completed to start the implementation works of the projects selected within the European Village national program.

According to the ministry, the National Regional and Local Development Coordination Council (CNCDRL) approved the annual financing plan for local development projects from the means of the National Fund for Regional and Local Development (FNDRL) of local development projects for 2022.

The amount of allocations from the National Development Fund for local development projects is 662.6 million lei (over 13 million euros), of which 342.7 million lei are intended for the improvement of the technical-building infrastructure, 305.5 million lei for the construction and the renovation of social infrastructure and 14.1 million lei for the co-financing of projects implemented from external assistance sources.

"Also during this meeting, the updating of the costs for some regional development projects, included in the Annual Financing Plan for 2022, was approved, as well as the maximum admissible budget limits for the financing of projects from the FNDRL means. It was also approved to assume full financing from the Fund for some projects of national importance (the development of the Botanical Garden as an ecotourism destination and the consolidation, preservation and development of the tourist infrastructure within the Cultural-Natural Reserve Orheiul Vechi)", indicates MIDR.

This week, the National Office for Regional and Local Development will take several actions to inform and train the applying authorities on the way to implement the projects and will start the procedure for signing the financing contracts with the mayors of the beneficiary localities.

President Maia Sandu announced on March 21 the launch of the European Village national local development program. This year, the project program for local development has a budget of 470 million lei. Another 300 million lei from the program were allocated to the regional development project.
