CMC to allocate 20 million lei for liquidation of consequences of bad weather in capital

Chisinau, August 12 /MOLDPRES/- The Chisinau Municipal Council (CMC) is to allocate 20 million lei (about 1 million euros) for the liquidation of the consequences of the bad weather in the capital. At the same time, the mayor of Chisinau, Ion Ceban, sent a request to the Government requesting the allocation of 12.5 million lei for the rehabilitation of the affected educational institutions.

During a press conference, the mayor of the capital, Ion Ceban, specified that the amount of damage is increasing daily, as specialists continue to carry out estimates in the field. "We propose that the cleaning work be completed on Saturday, then the sanitation work will be initiated. The interventions are to be carried out by the middle of next week. At the same time, the lighting will be restored by Sunday. The works carried out on the roofs of the houses need to be completed before the rains start, in the autumn season", said Ion Ceban.

According to the mayor of the capital, during yesterday, over 1500 employees of the municipal services participated in the liquidation of the consequences of the bad weather. "150 special vehicles intervened in the affected areas. Today the work continues. Several economic agents were contracted to provide the necessary equipment to carry out the clearing and evacuation works. Economic agents are also willing to help us rehabilitate educational institutions", mentioned Ion Ceban.

To date, 2.5 million lei have been allocated from the Reserve Fund of the Chisinau municipality to liquidate the consequences of the weather.
