CSE approved new security measures in Chisinau Airport

Chisinau, August 12 /MOLDPRES/- The Commission for Emergency (CSE) yesterday approved new prevention and protection measures in and around the Chisinau International Airport.

According to the document, the activity of the VIP room inside the airport is suspended. In the same way, the access of persons to the premises of the Chisinau International Airport is prohibited, with the exception of passengers, crew members, employees of economic agents or public authorities operating within the entity.

At the same time, the Border Police will provide the necessary support for the examination of the buildings and territory of the Chisinau International Airport in order to identify explosive materials or substances. Thus, the border policemen will be permanently trained and assisted by an employee of the General Police Inspectorate with skills to identify explosive substances and ensure compliance with reaction procedures in explosive alert situations.

Other previously approved security measures also remain in place. It is about: the establishment of a control filter at the entrance to the airport with baggage scanning, the training of several specialized canine teams to maintain the regime, the delimitation of passenger flows at the entrance/exit, the prohibition of parking in front of the airport, the daily patrolling of the adjacent airport by mixed crews.
