Customs Service collected over 658.4 million lei last week

Chisinau, August 15 /MOLDPRES/- On August 8-14, the Customs Service collected over 658.4 million lei (about 32.9 million euros) from the state budget, up by 10.8% than the budgetary burden for this period.

According to the institution, private people introduced goods whose customs value exceeds the non-taxable limit, and payments totaling over 16.6 million lei were collected, which represents 2.5% of the total amount collected during this period. The money collected from taxpayers is paid into the state budget and redistributed for salaries, infrastructure development, social projects, etc.

Also, during the past week, 11,179 customs declarations were completed, and the flow of means of transport constituted 94,032 crossings. In the chapter on combating fraud, during this period 53 violations of customs legislation were found and fines in the amount of over 216 thousand lei were applied.

Since the beginning of the year, the Customs Service has collected 19.7 billion lei from the state budget, 21.8% more compared to the same period last year.
