Decrease in number of cases of coronavirus in Chisinau

Chisinau, August 15 /MOLDPRES/- Last week, the number of cases of COVID-19 in the capital decreased. The announcement was made today by the head of the General Directorate of Medical and Social Assistance, Boris Gîlca, at the operative meeting of the municipal services.

Currently, 336 people are hospitalized in medical institutions in the capital. "About 50 of the patients are in serious condition. Last week, 10 deaths were recorded. It is about people who suffered from chronic diseases", said Boris Gîlca.

The management of the General Directorate of Medical and Social Assistance urged citizens to continue to respect the protective measures. "It is not a signal for the population to relax and disregard protective measures, as the situation can change quickly. We urge the citizens to be responsible and to respect the doctors' advice", said Boris Gîlca.

Specialists recommend that people immunize themselves with all doses of the vaccine. Citizens are also urged to wear protective masks in crowded public spaces and on public transport. At the same time, wearing it is mandatory in medical institutions.
