Moldovan president visits Balti

Chisinau, Aug. 17 /MOLDPRES/- On Tuesday, President Maia Sandu went on a working visit to Balti city and had several meetings with representatives of the locality, the presidential press service has reported.
"I went to Balti today, where I had several meetings. I talked to mayor Nicolae Grigorișin about the city's problems and financial situation, the investments needed to rehabilitate the infrastructure and the economic, social and cultural projects expected by Balti residents. As for the granting of a special status for the municipality of Bălți, the project is to be finalized and debated in Parliament", said Maia Sandu.
She also visited the CET-Nord Thermal Power Plant, where the renovation of the centralized thermal energy supply system is taking place, with European funds.
"Regional development is our priority, and Balti is an important economic and social center of the country, which we want and must support. We will build a modern regional hospital in Bălți, we will continue investments in the energy sector and we will contribute to attracting private investments to create more jobs", said Maia Sandu.
