SIS director meets Romanian counterpart

Chisinau, August 18 /MOLDPRES/- Alexandru Musteata, director of the Intelligence and Security Service of the Republic of Moldova had a meeting today with Eduard Raul Hellvig, director of the Romanian Intelligence Service. The officials addressed topics of common interest in the format of the bilateral partnership in order to prevent risks and threats that endanger national and regional security.
The two heads of intelligence services spoke for the intensification of collaborative relations regarding the fight against cross-border threats, cross-border organized crime, terrorist and cyber attacks, as well as radicalization and disinformation.
Also, the objectives assumed by the Intelligence and Security Service of the Republic of Moldova aimed at institutional reform, increasing the degree of trust of citizens and making the activity of the SIS more transparent were discussed.
The parties reviewed issues regarding regional developments with potential impact on the security situation of the two states and agreed to the establishment of new cooperation mechanisms aimed at streamlining the process of countering risks affecting the regional and European security climate.
