Destination of agricultural land may be changed for mining works

Chisinau, August 19 /MOLDPRES/- The destination of agricultural land may be changed for mining works, according to some legislative changes published today in the Official Journal.

The document provides for the removal of the ban on changing the destination of high-quality agricultural land, located within the limits of the mining perimeters. Thus, the extraction activities will be allowed within the limits of the assigned mining perimeter and only after the prior assessment of the impact on the environment and the expertise of the extraction project.

According to the authors of the document, the legislative changes will allow mining companies to continue their activity and implement new projects in the mining industry. At the same time, the changes made will allow the continuation of the production of construction materials from local raw materials.

Also in today's edition of the Official Journal, the presidential decree promulgating the legislative changes was published.
