President, Federal Chancellor of Austria discussed Moldovan-Austrian cooperation

Chisinau, August 23 /MOLDPRES/- President of the Republic of Moldova Maia Sandu had a meeting yesterday evening with Federal Chancellor of Austria Karl Nehammer, on the sidelines of the European Forum Alpbach.

According to the presidential press service, the officials discussed the bilateral relations between our countries, the Moldovan-Austrian cooperation and the European path of the Republic of Moldova, in the context of obtaining the status of a candidate country for the EU.

The head of state thanked the Austrian authorities for supporting the European integration approach of the Republic of Moldova and for the support that our country has benefited from over the years through the Austrian Development Agency.

The officials agreed to advance cooperation in the economic, environmental and energy protection fields, for the development of renewable energy. Also, the two countries will continue to carry out regional infrastructure rehabilitation projects.
