Chisinau, August 24 /MOLDPRES/- Six months since our neighboring country Ukraine has been the victim of a violent war, which daily leads to loss of human life, enormous destruction and catastrophic costs for millions of Ukrainian families. Today is the Independence Day of Ukraine, a country next to which at these moments are the thoughts and prayers of billions of people, Prime Minister Natalia Gavriliţa said at the press conference after today's cabinet meeting.
"For our country this war brings enormous expenses and risks. Our people hear the sounds of bombs, shelter refugees, watch images of war on the news every day, and we, along with all of humanity watch as fighting and bombing takes place in our neighboring state.
We are under increased pressure regarding the supply of import products, the organization of exports, attempts to destabilize the internal situation, to manipulate and tension the citizens through many fake news and propaganda information", the prime minister said.
According to Natalia Gavriliţa, the authorities are still vigilant and "as a Government, we are doing our best to ensure the security of the country, to make sure we face every challenge".
"It's difficult at such times to congratulate Ukraine, because I can't imagine what it's like to go through such a celebration while the cities are being attacked with missiles, and I think the only acceptable greeting is to wish for peace. We wish our Ukrainian neighbors that this ordeal ends and that they return as quickly as possible to the reconstruction of the country, to peaceful life", Gavrilita said.
