Localities from Călăraşi, Străşeni to develop centralized sewage systems

Chisinau, August 26 /MOLDPRES/- The Regional Development Agency (ADR) Centru, the Călăraşi District Council and the executing company signed today the contract for the project to improve the standard of living in Călăraşi and Străşeni districts by ensuring the population's access to the centralized sewage systems.
The regional development project is planned for implementation in the next 24 months and sees the construction and rehabilitation of 5.8 km of sewage networks in Călăraşi and Nișcani, a rehabilitated wastewater treatment plant and the expansion of its capacity by installing two additional biological treatment reactors.
"Following these activities, over 4,500 residents of Călărași and Nișcani will benefit from improved access to the sewage system. At the same time, the local authorities propose in the long term that two years after the completion of the project, in addition to the household residents, over 57 economic agents, as well as ten Public Institutions from Călărași and Străseni districts will be connected to the sewerage network", ADR Center said.
The total value of the project, according to the contract, is more than 31 million lei (1.55 million euros), of which 90% will be covered by the National Fund for Regional and Local Development, and another 10% represents the applicant's contribution.
