Chisinau, August 26 /MOLDPRES/- Employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MAI) in public order and security will receive increased compensation for work performed in conditions of increased health risk. A decision on the matter, approved by the government was published in the Official Journal today.

The project sees earmarking about 7 million 847 thousand lei from the government's intervention fund, of which 7 million 470 thousand lei will be offered to the General Police Inspectorate, and about 376.2 thousand lei - to the General Inspectorate of Carabineers. The money will be used to grant the compensation increase to the 5,524 employees involved in measures to prevent and fight against COVID-19, during 14-23 February.

No financial means were approved in the MAI budget to pay the compensation, given the fact that it is not a permanent increase and it is paid only after the categories of beneficiaries are established by the Extraordinary National Public Health Commission.
