Chisinau, 7 September /MOLDPRES/ - The Superior Council of Prosecutors (CSP) today informed that it had ruled to submit a request on the accession to the European Network of Councils for the Judiciary (ENCJ).
According to CSP, the participants in the next meeting of ENCJ will bring for discussion the subject of giving the status of observer to Moldova’s Superior Council of Prosecutors.
By collegial decision, CSP has recently ruled to send a request on joining the European Network of Councils for the Judiciary. The aforementioned initiative was facilitated by the status given to Moldova as country candidate for accession to the European Union, as well as by the need to reform and adjust the national justice system to the European standards in the sector.
ENCJ brings together the national institutions from the EU member states, which are independent from the government and parliament and which are in charge of backing the judiciary system in carrying out the independence of justice. The goal of this is to improve the cooperation and good understanding between the Councils for the Judiciary, members of the judiciary systems of the EU member states and of the countries candidates for accession to EU.
