Moldovan president promulgates amendments to law on social benefits for children

Chisinau, 27 September /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu today promulgated the amendments to the law on social benefits for children, which establish the providing of a monthly child-care allowance for all children up to two years of age, no matter whether their parents are insured or not, the presidential press service has reported.
Thus, as of the next October, the child-care allowance will increase and will stand at 1,000 lei for all uninsured parents. As for the insured parents, the new allowance worth 1,000 lei will be added to the current one for the child-care leave.
Over 63,000 people will benefit from allowance. ‘’We want all children from Moldova to grown in safety and affection, to have the needed conditions for development,’’ the head of state said.
The law is also part of the Family Programme, launched by the Labour and Social Protection and which sees a big package of actions to support the children and families with children from Moldova. Details may be found here: http://familia.gov.md/.
