Exhibition dedicated to Chisinau Circus inaugurated at museum from Moldovan capital

Chisinau, 28 September /MOLDPRES/ - A documentary exhibition titled, The Chisinau Circus: from designing to renovation, dedicated to the 40th anniversary of the first circus show, which took place on 25 April 1982, was inaugurated at the Museum of History of the Chisinau City today, in the context of the European Heritage Days.
A round table was held at the same museum. Representatives of the academic community from the field of cultural heritage conservation, as well as a co-author of the project on the circus’ construction, Alla Chiricenko and engineer Veaceslav Rejepa participated in the event.
Contacted by MOLDPRES, the director of the aforementioned museum, Valeria Suruceanu, said that photos, original draughts and projects from the archive of the Museum of History of the Chisinau City and from the personal collection or architect Alla Chiricenko had been presented at the exhibition.
At an Initiative by the European Circus Association, the European Parliament in 2005 adopted a resolution, according to which it officially recognized the circus as part of the European culture. The circus is one of the most popular types of entertainment and deserves a better attention on behalf of the state. The main goal of the exhibition project and of the round table, organized at the Museum of History of the Chisinau City, is to popularize the art of circus and culture in Moldova, as well as the involvement of the entire society in the problems of conservation and protection of this important common segment, such as the European cultural heritage.
