US government to further support local agricultural producers in Moldova

Chisinau, Oct. 6 /MOLDPRES/- US Ambassador to Chisinau Kent Logsdon has participated in the second EU-Moldova LEADER Conference. He assured that the United States will continue to support local agricultural producers in the country.

The US Agency for International Development (USAID) announced today that the second edition of the EU-Moldova LEADER Conference aims to create a networking and experience exchange platform that will allow LAGs and local and international partners to put discussing the development challenges of rural communities and identifying solutions to implement changes at the local level.

"USAID's support for LEADER represents support for Moldova's reform efforts, including European integration, and reflects the importance of public participation and responsive governance as core democratic values. Today's conference celebrates these successes and sets the standard for the future to explore innovation and best practice in key areas such as rural tourism, youth participation, environmental protection and social entrepreneurship," said Ambassador Logsdon.

USAID has been supporting LEADER initiatives in the Republic of Moldova since 2018 to contribute to economic development and job creation in rural areas.
