Over 100 soldiers of National Army participate in KFOR 31 Mission Rehearsal Exercise

Chisinau, Oct. 18 /MOLDPRES/- More than 100 soldiers of the National Army participate in the KFOR 31 Mission Rehearsal Exercise (KFOR 31 MRE) on 4-24 October, held at the military training center in Hohenfels, Germany.
According to the Ministry of Defense, the exercise aims to train the contingent of peacekeepers to be deployed as part of the peacekeeping operation in Kosovo in 2023.
Moldovan sappers are trained in theoretical and practical sessions on car and foot patrols, specific missions at checkpoints and crossings, crowd control, guarding important objectives, as well as surveying the terrain to detect and destroy explosive objects.
This year, the National Army soldiers are training at the Mission Rehearsal Exercise together with colleagues from Albania, Armenia, Italy, Kosovo, Latvia, North Macedonia, Romania and the United States of America.
Participation in the Mission Rehearsal Exercise is part of the external activity plan of the Ministry of Defense and the National Army for 2022.
The National Army has been participating in exercises in Germany since 2012.
