Moldova has 218,000 doses of influenza vaccine

Chisinau, 18 October /MOLDPRES/ - As many as 218,000 doses of influenza vaccine have been delivered to Moldova. A consignment of 188,000 doses was purchased with sources of the fund of the measures of prophylaxis of the National Health Insurances Company (CNAM) and another batch of 30,000 doses was donated to Moldova by The Task Force for Global Health, based on an agreement between the Health Ministry and the concerned organization.
The composition of the vaccine meets the recommendations of the World Health Organization for the north hemisphere, the season 2022-2023.
According to the Health Ministry, both consignments received are stocked at the national warehouse of vaccines from the National Public Health Agency. The doses of vaccine are to be distributed to the public health centres and subsequently – to medical and sanitary institutions from Moldova for the immunization of children and adults from the groups of high risk of falling sick, as well as of the professional contingents. The campaign of vaccination against the seasonal flu will start soon.
The Health Ministry says that the vaccination is the safest and the most efficient way of prevention of cases of falling ill with influenza. Just as in the previous flu season, the concomitant vaccination against influenza and COVID-19 is recommended.
