French Agency for Development to provide 60 million euros for development of energy, railway sectors in Moldova

Chisinau, 19 October /MOLDPRES/ - Moldova and the French Agency for Development (AFD) will sign a credit facility agreement worth 60 million euros. The financial resources will be meant for the budgetary support and the carrying out of reforms in the energy and railway sector. The cabinet of ministers approved a draft decision to this end at a meeting today, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
Finance Minister Dumitru Budianschi will initial the agreement on behalf of Moldova.
The loan contracted will have a maturity of 15 years, including a grace period of 5 years and will be disbursed in a single installment. The floating interest rate represents Euribor 6m + margin of 0.90 per cent. 0,90%.
The agreement is to be ratified by Moldova’s parliament and will enter into force on the day when AFD receives the legal opinion of the Moldovan side.
