Moldovan deputy PM for reintegration meets new Head of OSCE Mission in Moldova

Chisinau, 20 October /MOLDPRES/ - Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Oleg Serebrian has had a meeting new Head of the OSCE Mission in Moldova Kelly Keiderling, who took over the office on 3 October 2022, the Reintegration Policies Bureau has reported.
The officials discussed the current dynamic in the process of negotiations on the Transnistrian settlement, the Moldovan government’s priorities in the field of the country’s reintegration policies.
The sides highlighted the complexity of the present regional security situation and noted the indispensability of coordinating the actions, in order to maintain an atmosphere of normality, predictability and consolidation of trust, including in the perimeter of the Security Zone and in the country’s eastern districts.
Deputy PM Oleg Serebrian noted that the, in the new conditions, decision-makers should find a way of adjusting the agenda of Moldova’s reintegration to the one of European integration. He stressed that the project on settlement of the Transnistrian file must lead to the strengthening of the state Republic of Moldova.
Distinct attention was paid to the issue of human rights in the Transnistrian region, given the quite alarming situation on this dimension; the sides emphasized the need to synchronize the efforts and use all leverages of intervention possible, in order to provide the necessary assistance to the victims, whose rights were harmed and ensure the observance of the universal standards guaranteed.
