Eight persons detained following raids at Shor Party of Moldova

Chisinau, 20 October /MOLDPRES/ - Anticorruption Prosecutors and officers of the National Anticorruption Centre (CNA) and of the Intelligence and Security Service (SIS) today made raids and searches at members and activists of the Shor Party from more settlements of Moldova. Following the raids, eight people were detained and 3.5 million lei was raised.
At a news briefing, the chief prosecutor of the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office (PA), Veronica Dragalin, said 55 searches had been carried out in all and similar actions continued now too.
At the same time, about 3.5 million lei was raised, which was to be used to pay participants in protests. ‘’About 20 black bags with white labels were raised, on which names of districts were written. As much as 25,000 lei was found in one of them. Dollars were also found in other bags,’’ Dragalin said.
Veronica Dragalin also said that she would come up with details on the actions undertaken by law-enforcers on 21 October, noting that cases of carriage of people to the capital at protests had been investigated as well.
