Moldovan foreign affairs minister meets head of NATO Liaison Office in Moldova

Chisinau, 20 October /MOLDPRES/ - Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Nicu Popescu has had a meeting with the head of the NATO Liaison Office in Moldova, Kristina Baleišytė, the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry’s (MAEIE) press service has reported.
The Moldovan official offered thanks to the representative of the North Atlantic Alliance for her personal contribution to the development of the partnership with NATO, including the implementation of the joint goals from the Individual Partnership Action Plan, the package of assistance for strengthening the capacities of defence, as well as the organization of public diplomacy activities.
„In my discussion, I reiterated out interest in the expertise and assistance of the organization in the promotion of the democratic reforms, in particular, for the modernization of the defence sector, in line with the new developments and requirements of the current security environment.
I referred to the importance of the cooperation for the promotion of the international order based on rules and norms and for the counteraction of the joint challenges to security,’’ the Moldovan official said.
