Moldovan PM meets hew head of OSCE Mission in Moldova

Chisinau, 20 October /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilita and new Head of the OSCE Mission in Moldova Kelly Keiderling discussed the present situation in the Transnistrian region, maintaining of a constructive dialogue between Chisinau and Tiraspol, as well as the cabinet’s actions to supply the residents of the region with products and re-orient the exports to the EU states, as well as other issues at a meeting today, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
The sides exchanged opinions on the security situation in the region and the present stage of the Transnistrian settlement process. The PM noted that, because of the war in Ukraine, the 5+2 format of negotiations had been frozen. Nevertheless, the Moldovan government continues the dialogue with Tiraspol and further speaks out for the peaceful settlement of the conflict and maintaining of peace and stability.
Natalia Gavrilita also referred to the cabinet’s actions to remove the obstacles to the movement across the Dniester river. The prime minister said that, in last September, about 70 per cent of the Transnistrian region’s exports had gone to EU, with the top 3 importers being Romania, Poland and Germany.
Ambassador Kelly Keiderling said that the OSCE Mission would monitor, in continuation, the situation in the Transnistrian region and would identify solutions for the integration of the left bank of Dniester in the economic, social and education space of Moldova.
