Notary of former PDM leader to be investigated

Chisinau, Oct. 21 /MOLDPRES/- Former PDM leader Vlad Plahotniuc's notary wil be investigated for forgery public documents and false statements.

According to the Prosecutor's Office for Combating Organized Crime and Special Cases, the notary is accused on two cases. The first concerns the crime of forgery in public documents, in the interest of a criminal organization. The second case is related to the presentation knowingly of false statements in his capacity as a witness in a criminal trial related to particularly serious crime.

Under the law, the first offense is punishable by a fine or imprisonment of one to six years, and the second carries a fine or imprisonment of up to five years.

The notary did not admit his guilt, and after the extradition from Belgium, the magistrates of the Chisinau Court ordered house arrest.
