Chisinau, Oct. 22 /MOLDPRES/- President of the Republic of Moldova Maia Sandu met yesterday a group of students, who are studying in Romania, the presidential press service has reported.
During the discussion, the head of state and the young people talked about the reasons that made them go to study across the Prut, as well as the government's actions to improve the quality of higher education in the country. The young people expressed their gratitude for the chance to learn at the institutions in Romania, and after graduation, through the acquired knowledge, they would like to contribute to the development of the Republic of Moldova.
"I also discussed with them what needs to be done so that more young people who have left, including for Romania return home. We need well-trained young people in both the public and private sectors. I told them that even if our state cannot yet offer competitive salaries, working in public institutions can be a real professional challenge and a useful experience for those who want to learn and contribute to the transformation of the country. We are waiting for them at home, especially now, when the European integration process is becoming a reality and we have to move forward with reforms in all areas", said Maia Sandu.
At the end of the dialogue with the young people, the head of state thanked them for their willingness to help the Chisinau authorities in their efforts to communicate with the young people going to study in Romania and for promoting Moldova and caring about what is happening here.
