Flu vaccination started in Chisinau medical institutions

Chisinau, Oct. 24 /MOLDPRES/- Flu vaccination has begun in Chisinau medical institutions. The head of the General Directorate of Medical and Social Assistance, Boris Gîlca made the statement at today's operational meeting of the municipal services.
According to the official, all people, especially those in risk groups can go to the family doctor to benefit from the vaccine.
The head of the Information and Media Communication Service of the Ministry of Health, Elena Mudrîi, said that the distributing vaccines in medical institutions in the country began late last week.
In total, the Republic of Moldova has 218 thousand doses of influenza vaccine. Its composition corresponds to the recommendations of the World Health Organization for the northern hemisphere, 2022-2023 season.
Vaccine doses are distributed to public health centers, and later to medical and sanitary institutions in the country. These are primarily intended for children and adults from groups with increased risk of illness, as well as for professional contingents. Simultaneous vaccination against the flu and the COVID-19 infection is recommended.
