Moldovan deputy PM has meeting with Special Representative of OSCE Chairperson-in-Office for Transnistrian Settlement

Chisinau, 24 October /MOLDPRES/ - Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Oleg Serebrian has had a meeting with Special Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office for Transnistrian Settlement Thomas Mayr-Harting, accompanied by Head of the OSCE Mission in Moldova Kelly Keiderling, the Reintegration Polices Bureau has reported.
The discussions were focused on the current dynamic of the Chisinau-Tiraspol dialogue, interaction in the formats 1+1, sectoral working groups and the Joint Control Commission (JCC), objective factors which makes impossible the re-launch of activities in the 5+2 format and of Bavaria conferences for the promotion of confidence building measures, the most important issues on the agenda, with the Chisinau side evoking: free movement, farmers from the Dubasari district, Latin-script lyceums/gymnasiums, human rights, etc.
The deputy PM for reintegration noted that the present regional context imposed the need of establishing new platforms of dialogue on the Transnistria-related issues.
Oleg Serebrian reiterated the approach on the necessity to synchronize the process of concomitant implementation of the desiderata of Moldova’s European integration and reintegration.
The Moldovan official referred to the challenges and crises in the sectors of security, energy, economy, unstable situation in the perimeter of the Security Zone. Serebrian emphasized the efforts undertaken, in order to manage as good as possible these processes and avoid undesired scenarios and able to jeopardize the atmosphere of peace and stability.
The deputy prime minister highlighted the willingness to participate in a new working meeting of the political representatives and informed about the planning of other meetings of the sectoral working groups in the near future (for instance, in the field of environmental protection).
