Chisinau, 24 October /MOLDPRES/ - The Vasile Alecsandri National Theatre from Balti has launched two projects financially backed by donors within its 66th season, which started in late last September.
Contacted by MOLDPRES, the theatre’s director, Onorina Burlac-Tanas, said that the administration was looking for new ways of the theatre’s financing. Thus, in the opening of the current theatrical season, an original festival titled, Week-end of American Dramaturgy, was brought to stage. The project of this festival, in which theatres from Moldova, Romania and Ukraine participate, was supported by the Embassy of the USA in Chisinau.
According to Onorina Burlac-Tanas, in October, the Balti-based theatre carries out another project titled, Honour to the Romanian Theatre, sponsored by Romania’s Department for the Relation with Moldova. Thus, three theatres – from Deva, Barlad and Suceava, have occasion to present plays in Balti. At the same time, in next November, the Vasile Alecsandri National Theatre will stage plays at the aforementioned three partner theatres, proposing to the Romanian audience the play titled, 451º Fahrenheit.
