Japanese piano player to sing in Chisinau for Ukrainian refugees

Chisinau, 24 October /MOLDPRES/ - A concert titled, Solidarity Moldova, given by a Japanese piano player and composer Tempei Nakamura, will take place at the Organ Hall on 26 October at 18:00. The event is organized by the Embassy of Japan in Moldova, United Nations Refugee Agency and the host institution.     

According to the organizers, the concert is dedicated to refugees and members of the local community. Representative of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) Francesca Bonelli and Ambassador of Japan to Moldova Yoshihiro Katayama will participate in the event.        

Tempei Nakamura started studying piano at the early age of five years. He graduated from the Osaka University of Arts and moved to New York in 2006. In 2008, Nakamura debuted with an album launched by EMI Music Japan and two years later, he made his debut in a solo recital at Carnegie Hall from New York.  

The artist has earlier sung on charity purposes as well. He made national tours to Japan and gave concerts in ‘’unexplored regions,’’ such as Kumano Kodo – a site registered in the World Heritage, in order to contribute to efforts of reconstruction in the wake of the Great East Japan Earthquake.    

The artist has recently visited more countries of Europe, who received refugees (among which Romania, Turkey and Slovakia), before coming to Moldova, to continue his solidarity tour.
