Moldovan government leadership participated in national greening campaign

Chisinau, Nov. 5 /MOLDPRES/- Today, on the National Greening Day, Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilița, together with Secretary General of the Government Dumitru Udrea and employees of the State Chancellery planted about 15 thousand oak saplings on an area of three hectares within the Căinari forest bypass. The action took place in the context of the launch by the Ministry of the Environment and the Moldsilva Agency of the national greening campaign -Plant your future, the government's communication and protocol department has reported.
The campaign is carried out to mobilize society and boost efforts to increase forested areas. This year, the National Environmental Fund has allocated more than 2.5 million lei for the procurement of planting material and the greening of the plot.
The green spaces development works will be carried out during November, throughout the entire territory of the country. People who want to participate in the planting works can collaborate with the forestry enterprises, and on www.silvicultura.md they can find the contact details of the territorial entities that have the necessary planting material. Also, more details about planting can be found at www.moldsilva.gov.md.
The Republic of Moldova has a forest cover of about 11% of the country's surface. Annually, two greening campaigns are held in our country, in spring and autumn - National Greening Day.
