Policemen carry out Pedestrian operation in Moldova

Chisinau, 9 November /MOLDPRES/ - Policemen carry out the Pedestrian operation on 5-11 November 2022, in order to prevent traffic accidents, especially with children’s involvement.
According to the General Police Inspectorate (IGP), the pedestrians’ safety represents one of the priories of the law-enforcement bodies. Thus, within the campaign, law-enforcers will monitor the high risk crosswalks nearby education institutions, so that pupils come to school in safety.
At the same time, to avoid tragedies, policemen urge pedestrians to move only through allowed places and only after they thoroughly make sure.
Also, drivers are urged to show special prudence in traffic, especially nearby school and pre-school education institutions.
IGP said that, in the first ten months of this year, more than 11,200 drivers had been documented for the infringement of rules of stopping and failure to give priority to pedestrians. At the same time, about 10,700 pedestrians were sanctioned for crossing streets in not suitable places.
