World Press Photo international exhibition staged in Moldovan capital again

Chisinau, 9 November /MOLDPRES/ - The World Press Photo International Exhibition, the 2022 issue, today was inaugurated at the National History Museum of Moldova for the sixth time in a row. This is a competition which recognizes the quality photo-journalism and awards prizes to pictures and stories from all over the world.
The event was organized by the Centre for Independent Journalism (CJI), with the support of the Office of the Netherlands in Chisinau. Attending the event were Head of the Office of the Netherlands in Chisinau Floris Van Eijk, the director of the host institution, Eugen Sava, the executive director of the Centre for Independent Journalism, Nadine Gogu, photo-journalist Nicolae Pojoga, newspapermen, culture and art people.
According to the organizers, the exhibition comprises the best photos made in the world during 2021. The winners of the World Press Photo 2022 present stories which comprise a wide spectrum of issues – beginning with the incontestable effects of the climate crisis or the movements for the civil rights and the right as to the access to education and ending with the preservation of the native practices and identity.
The exhibition will be opened till 30 November.
