Eight cases of influenza registered in Moldova

Chisinau, Nov. 17 /MOLDPRES/- Last weeks, eight cases of seasonal flu were registered (municipality of Chisinau-4, Bălți-2 and Făleşti-2).

According to the National Agency for Public Health, on 7-13 November the number of cases of acute respiratory infections increased by 8%. In total, 6,630 cases of respiratory infections were registered, most of them in children - 69.4%.

During the same period, in the ANSP laboratories, a number of 439 samples were investigated for the presence of influenza, non-influenza and SARS-CoV-2 viruses, from people with signs compatible with seasonal flu and acute viral respiratory infections (in two samples the SARS-CoV 2 virus was detected, and in five the influenza virus type A).

The share of cases of severe acute respiratory infections in the total number of hospitalizations in medical institutions, regardless of the cause, varied between 2.9%-3.6%.
