Chisinau, 17 November /MOLDPRES/ - The Agency for Energy Efficiency (AEE), in partnership with the Infrastructure and Regional Development Ministry, National Energy Regulatory Agency, state capital enterprise Premier Energy Ltd, North Electric Energy Supply stock company and the Volta network of shops today launched an information campaign on measures of energy efficiency for cutting the consumption of electric and thermal energy.
„In Moldova, the residential sector is the biggest energy consumer, with about 45 per cent of the final consumption of energy in the country. The energy consumption can be reduced not only through major investments in infrastructure or walls’ thermal insulation, but also with the help of simple energy efficiency measures, including through the promotion of a responsible consumption of energy, which will bring both benefits for the family’s budget and will lead to cutting the energy consumption in the country and, respectively, to reducing its energy dependence,’’ AEE said.
The Agency’s representatives carried out an action of informing citizens and distributed folders containing information on possibilities of saving electric and thermal energy. At the same time, LED lamps were distributed, which have a low consumption of electricity against the traditional lamps.
AEE’s initiative on energy efficiency measures aligns with the national campaign of moderate consumption of electric energy titled, I Can Control the Invoice, launched by Infrastructure and Regional Development Ministry in last October.
