Moldovan parliament's special commission discusses problems faced by citizens from Transnistrian region

Chisinau, 28 November /MOLDPRES/ - The members of special parliamentary commission for monitoring and parliamentary control over the carrying out of the policy of Moldova’s reintegration have convened at a meeting. Attending the discussions was also Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Oleg Serebrian.   

According to the parliament’s communication and public relations department, the discussions were focused on problems faced by the citizens from the Transnistrian region and identifying efficient solutions in this respect. Deputy PM for Reintegration Oleg Serebrian unveiled an updated report on the carrying out of the Transnistrian settlement process. So far, more meetings have been held, as well as sectoral meetings, during which diverse aspects were approached – the energy issue, the one of free movement, education, health, as well as ensuring the observance of human rights.   

”In this complicated situation, any approach for de-tensing the situation is useful. We are open to give a helping hand and help all citizens of the country. Special attention must be paid to the cases, Glinjan, Horjan and Plescanov,’’ Deputy Parliament Speaker, head of the aforementioned special parliamentary commission Mihail Popsoi said.     

The special parliamentary commission for monitoring and parliamentary control over the carrying out of the policy of Moldova’s reintegration was set up in late 2021, at a proposal by Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu. Its goal is to monitor and assess the situation as to the reintegration policies and to work out proposals and recommendations, which would allow regaining the confidence and getting closer the citizens from the two banks of Dniester.
