Chisinau, 29 November /MOLDPRES/ - Moldova will hold the chairmanship-in-office of the Central European Initiative (CEI) for the 2023 year. Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu and CEI Secretary General Roberto Antoneone have discussed the subject at a meeting, the parliament’s communication and public relations department reported.
„This is an important step for Moldova, especially now, when it has status of country candidate for accession to the European Union,’’ Igor Grosu said.
According to the parliament speaker, Moldova has an ambitious agenda of reforms for 2023. ‘’In the first year, the authorities undertook important steps for changing the things in Moldova. We will make efforts in continuation in the adoption of the legislation necessary to this end, in order to improve the quality of living of our citizens and we will succeed with the help of our development partners,’’ the parliament speaker noted.
For his part, CEI Secretary General Roberto Antoneone specified that the chairmanship-in-office of the Central European Initiative would allow Moldova promoting its European agenda, as well as would facilitate the taking over of the experience in more key sectors, including with the EU member states.
