Ambassador of Japan ends mandate in Moldova

Chisinau, 30 November /MOLDPRES/ - President Maia Sandu today had a meeting with Ambassador of Japan to Moldova Yoshihiro Katayama, on the occasion of the end of his mandate in the country.
According to the presidential press service, the officials discussed the bilateral agenda. In the context, the head of state expressed gratitude for the constant support provided by Japan, which is the third biggest donor of assistance for development of Moldova. President Maia Sandu emphasized both the priority sectors of Japanese assistance, such as the health and agriculture, as well as the assistance provided urgently for the management of the Covid-19 pandemic and the refugees’ crisis. Also, the head of state stressed the role of Japanese investments in Moldova, due to which more enterprises were opened and thousands of jobs were created.
Maia Sandu awarded Yoshihiro Katayama the Order of Honour, as a token of appreciation for the contribution brought for the development of the Moldovan-Japanese relations and the support provided for Moldova’s modernization.
