Event dedicated to National Day of Romania held at Chisinau-based museum

Chisinau, 1 December /MOLDPRES/ - The National Ethnography and Natural History Museum today organized an event titled, Steps to Centenary of Great Union. A film titled, Father’s Way, and the book titled, The Itinerary of the Centenary of the Great Union 1918-2018. Journal of Way by Foot, were presented at the event.
The protagonist of the event was Ion Margineanu, an MP from the first parliament of Moldova, one of the signatories to the Declaration of Independence, teacher of French and German languages.
According to the director of the aforementioned museum, Petru Vicol, in 2018, Ion Margineanu, at the age of 78 years, during one month moved by foot from Balti to Alba Iulia 520 km, in order to participate in the celebration of the Centenary of the Great Union. During the travel, Ion Margineanu made notes each evening, based on which the aforementioned book was written. The way, Father’s Way, was made with the help of his children.
Following the presentation, the audience was able to discuss with the action’s protagonist. ‘’I wanted to bring to Alba Iulia my message that the Balti residents were the first to speak out for the Great Union in 1918. I am quite happy that I managed, at my age, to made this trip and to convey my message for Union in Alba Iulia,’’ Ion Margineanu said.
In the end, the participants in the event listened to a recital made by a guitar player from the Spiru Haret Theoretical Lyceum from Chisinau, Daniela Girdea.
