Chisinau, 1 December /MOLDPRES/ - The parliament today adopted a decision on the extension of the emergency state by another 60 days in Moldova starting from 6 December 2022. The document was approved at a proposal by Moldova’s government.
The request was reasoned by the current threats and, respectively, by the need to ensure the security of the supply with energy resources, managing the flow of refugees and counteracting other security risks. ‘’In the present situation, leverages and instruments are further necessary, which are to allow taking quick and efficient decisions,’’ Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilita said in parliament’s plenum.
During the emergency state, the Commission for Emergency Situations will issue compulsory instructions for the leaders of the central and local public administration, of economic agents, public institutions, as well as for citizens and people who stay in Moldova.
On 24 February this year, at a proposal by the government, the parliament declared state of emergency all over Moldova, taking into account the imminent danger to the national security, triggered by the war in Ukraine.
