New photovoltaic system inaugurated in Drăsliceni

Chisinau, Dec. 2 /MOLDPRES/- A photovoltaic system was inaugurated on November 30, in the village of Drăsliceni, Criuleni district, on the territory of a company that harvests and exports approximately four thousand tons of fruit annually to European Union countries. The project was carried out within the program Supporting the transition to the green economy, launched by the Agency for Development and Modernization of Agriculture (ADMA) in partnership with the Future Technologies project, funded by the USAID and Sweden, in which the company applied to obtain financing.
The newly installed photovoltaic system will supply alternative energy to the sorting and packaging line of the Fani company, which for more than seven years has been exporting plums, apricots and grapes to Germany, Austria, Romania, Latvia and Lithuania.
"We encourage agricultural entrepreneurs to use renewable energy sources. More than 40% of the total energy consumption at this enterprise comes from photovoltaic panels. This is how we increase energy autonomy, reduce costs and protect the environment. Installing photovoltaic panels is a smart and efficient economic action. The efforts made by the company will increase the ability to face the competition and certainly their products will differentiate themselves on the market", said Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry Vladimir Bolea at the inauguration event.
The total cost of the project to install solar panels with a capacity of 22 KW was 291,789 lei (about 14,600 euros), of which the grant in the amount of 121,767 lei awarded by the project, which was intended for the purchase solar panels, as well as the amount needed to insure the equipment.
